Our Beginnings
In 2015, Northeast Houston Baptist Church (NEHBC) identified the 59/99 corridor as an area of prime future growth. They believed this growing community would need more churches to serve the increasing population. They recruited, trained, and equipped Pastor John Powell to form a team and reach the developing community of New Caney with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor John recruited 60 members from NEHBC and developed a launch strategy. On April 9th, 2017, Pastor John and his core team launched the inaugural service of Emmanuel Baptist Church (EBC)!
We continue to gather at the New Caney High School Annex building in hopes that we will see individual lives transformed by the Gospel.
